Mindful UK – Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 29 Sep 2026

1. About these terms
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of www.mindful-uk.com (the "Website"), run by Mindful UK ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Website, creating an account or joining our therapist directory, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
Registered business name and address: [insert legal entity name and postal address]
If you have any questions about these Terms, email support@mindful-uk.com.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.

2. Our service
Mindful UK is an online directory that helps members of the public find therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and supervisors across the UK. We also promote listed therapists through our marketing.
We are a directory, not a therapy provider. We do not provide therapy, counselling, medical advice or diagnosis. Therapists listed on the Website are independent practitioners, not our employees or agents. Any therapy agreement is made directly between you and the therapist, on their own terms.
We are not an emergency service. Messages sent through the Website are not monitored around the clock. If you are in immediate danger, call 999. For free, confidential support at any time, call the Samaritans on 116 123.
The articles and resources on the Website are for general information only and are not a substitute for professional advice.

3. If you are looking for a therapist
Searching the directory and contacting therapists through the Website is free.
We ask therapists to confirm their qualifications and professional membership before we list them, and we carry out reasonable checks. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every listing, or a therapist's suitability, availability, fees or results. Before starting therapy, we recommend you:

  • check the therapist's registration with their professional body (such as the BACP, UKCP, NCPS or NCIP)

  • ask about their training, experience, fees and cancellation policy

  • make sure you feel comfortable with them, for example through an initial consultation

Any fees, bookings, cancellations or disputes about therapy sessions are between you and the therapist. If you have a concern about a listed therapist's conduct, please tell us at support@mindful-uk.com and consider raising it with their professional body.

4. If you are a therapist
Eligibility. To be listed, you must be a psychotherapist, counsellor, coach or supervisor trained to at least Level 4 (or equivalent), and hold membership of a recognised professional body where one applies to your work. You must also hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance and keep your registration, insurance and qualifications current.
Your listing. You are responsible for making sure everything in your profile is accurate, up to date and not misleading, including your qualifications, the conditions you work with and your fees. You must not claim accreditations you do not hold. We may ask for evidence of your qualifications, membership and insurance at any time, and may edit, refuse or remove a listing that does not meet these Terms.
Your practice. You remain fully and solely responsible for the services you provide to clients, including safeguarding, confidentiality, record keeping, data protection, and compliance with your professional body's code of ethics. You are the data controller for any client information you receive through the Website.
Promotion. As part of membership, you agree that we may use your name, photo, profile details and practice information to promote you and the directory on the Website, social media and paid advertising (including Meta). You confirm you have the right to let us use any images or content you provide.
Membership fees. Membership fees and what each plan includes are shown on the Website at the time you join: [insert fees, billing frequency and plan details]. Fees are payable in advance by card through our payment provider. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
Cancelling. You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing support@mindful-uk.com [or through your account settings]. Your listing will stay live until the end of your current paid period, and we do not give refunds for part-used periods unless the law requires it. If you joined online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you joined to cancel for a full refund.
Free or promotional memberships. Where we offer a free or discounted membership, for example in return for promoting Mindful UK on social media, any agreed conditions will be confirmed to you in writing. All other parts of these Terms still apply.

5. Accounts
You must be 18 or over to create an account. Keep your login details secure, and tell us straight away at support@mindful-uk.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.

6. Acceptable use
When using the Website, you must not:

  • provide false, misleading or impersonating information

  • post anything unlawful, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or harassing

  • use the Website to send spam or unsolicited marketing

  • copy, scrape or harvest listings or contact details, or use them for any purpose other than seeking or providing therapy

  • upload viruses or harmful code, or try to access parts of the Website you are not authorised to use

  • use the Website in any way that breaks the law or interferes with other users

7. Content and intellectual property
The Website and its content, including text, design, logos, graphics and articles, belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, reproduce or distribute our content without written permission.
You keep ownership of the content you provide, such as your profile, photo and biography. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and adapt it to run and promote the Website and directory while your listing is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to remove it from our marketing.

8. Our liability
We work to keep the Website accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free or secure.
We are not responsible for:

  • the therapy or other services provided by any listed therapist, or any outcome of them

  • any agreement, payment or dispute between you and a therapist

  • any loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by a therapist or another user

  • any indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, business or data

For therapists, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the membership fees you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Links to other websites
The Website links to therapists' own websites and other external sites. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

10. Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or remove any account or listing, without refund, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, provided false information, or acted in a way that could harm clients, other users or our reputation. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated. We will give members reasonable notice of any significant change by email.

12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, but if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

13. Contact us
