Create Your Safety Plan
A personal safety plan is a written guide you create when you are feeling well. It helps you recognise your warning signs, identify coping strategies, and know exactly who to call when things get hard.
Research shows that people with a safety plan are significantly more likely to reach out for help during a crisis. It takes around 10 minutes to create and could make all the difference.

Talk to your GP
Book an urgent appointment with your GP to discuss what happened and get a referral to mental health services. You can ask for an emergency same-day appointment.
Access NHS mental health services
Your GP can refer you to community mental health teams, crisis resolution teams, or talking therapies through NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT).
Tell someone you trust
Sharing what you are going through with a trusted friend, family member, or carer can reduce isolation and help them know how to support you.
Build your safety plan
A personal safety plan helps you identify warning signs, coping strategies, and who to contact if you feel in crisis again. Mindful can help you create one.
NHS 111 can also provide urgent mental health advice around the clock. Call 111 and select the mental health option.
